Conversion of the
‘Old School’, Galston

This internal design and build project for Murdoch Property Development Ltd included the initial purchase from the Council of the Grade C listed building, meeting the Local Authority’s strict criteria for the redundant building. The renovation took place during a period when the recession had adversely affected the housing market and this had a direct impact on the design. The decision was made to limit the number of units thereby increasing the floor area of all the units, resulting in generous 2 and 3 bedroom houses.

The sympathetic design and detailed drawings provided a relatively straightforward approval process and timeous site start. The detailed cost plan and contingency took account of the inevitable unforeseen problems with this type of development and provided an impressive final product witnessed by the fact that only one remains for sale!

The knowledge and expertise used in our own developments are simply applied to external client’s projects and we currently have 3 projects progressing on this basis.

I purchased the show home that was done by Murdoch Property Development Ltd in their renovation project at Galston Primary School.

I viewed several properties within the renovation and would gladly have bought any of them as they showed the workmanship and finishes to be of a very high standard. The Kitchens and Bathrooms within the properties were also a great selling point as they were bright, spacious and modern.

However the interior design of the show home was very much to my taste making this the ideal choice for me. My home is always admired by anyone who visits!!

The follow up service I have received from Murdoch Property Development Ltd has been excellent. They have dealt with any snagging issues or queries, promptly and efficiently. I would have no hesitation in recommending them for any future projects or works and I will definitely use them again in the future.
